10-014: Leadership Through Organizational Performance

Sunday, April 22, 2012: 9:15 AM-10:15 AM
Canary Ballroom-Salon 2 (Orlando World Center Marriott)

Program Description: In 2006, Rufus Glasper, Chancellor of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District, created a talent management initiative as a leadership pathway for aspiring employees. The Organizational/Peak Performance Program, which targeted presidents and vice chancellors, grew from that initiative. The Chancellor’s executives could engage in a year-long process focused on individual and organizational performance, building enhanced culture, developing leadership, and designing a “best practice” infrastructure, to meet ONE Maricopa and Student Success goals. Scottsdale Community College (SCC) engaged in the process over three years, with significant results. In partnership with an external facilitator, the SCC president has transformed the culture, developed leaders, adjusted the infrastructure, and aligned goals.
